Invitation wording...
|
 |
There are as many different types of wedding invitation wordings and 'rules' as invitations themselves it seems. The wording on your invitation is very important, be sure it convenes who is hosting your wedding as well as using appropriate etiquette.
First, some quick tips:
- When a Roman Catholic mass is part of the ceremony, the invitation could include: "...and your participation the offering of the Nuptial Mass"
- Numbers in the date are spelled out. Ex. the twenty-second of June. However, long numerics may be written in numerals, like address' with 3 or more numbers. Ex. 5374 Springbank Street.
- Most titles are abbreviated, like Mr. Mrs, but Dr. should be written; Doctor
- R.S.V.P., RSVP and Rsvp are all acceptable.
- Invitations to the ceremony do not include the reception. You must include a reception card or include the reception on the invitation (for those invited).
- Be sure to include all required information with the invitation. Or, mail it soon after the invitation.
